Students or graduates who have to register to the SEAMAN INFORMATION SYSTEM for reasons such as obtaining a seaman's wallet will be registered in the system if they apply to the Department with the documents below.
Required documents:
1- Original and photocopy of transcript
2- STCW document original and photocopy
3- Document states preparatory year is passed (pass type will be declared in writing on the photocopy of the transcript)

TO THE ATTENTION OF OUR STUDENTS AND GRADUATES WHO WANT TO WORK AS Oceangoing Watchkeeping Engineer!!!
All those who started in 2013 and later;
* They are subject to a 6-month shipboard and 3-month land/workshop internship and 10 difference courses.
In accordance with the STCW-Manila Agreement, after 01 JULY 2017, internship periods have increased to 6 + 3 months. For the qualification of a Naval Shift Engineer, it is required to "successfully complete a total of 6+3 months of approved training program, including 6 months of sea training on ships in accordance with an approved internship book and 3 months of Workshop Skills Development Training in Administration-approved workshop facilities in accordance with an approved internship book." . The entire 3-month land/workshop internship can also be done as a ship internship.
According to the new DIRECTIVE published by IMO and the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, General Directorate of Marine and Inland Water Regulation, the courses that our students who want to work as Oceangoing Watchkeeping Engineer must take:

Ones entered before 2013;

Detailed information can be obtained from the Ministry and Port Authorities. The Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications has the right to change these practices in accordance with the implementation principles of the Manila 2010 rule changes of the IMO STCW Convention.

Courses, Internship and Post-Internship Exams Taken by Our Department Students to Become a Oceangoing Watchkeeping Engineer
The internship service period recognition of the candidates who will participate in the Oceangoing Watchkeeping Engineer Internship Commission will be carried out by the Department Oceangoing Watchkeeping Engineer Internship Commission.
Candidates who will apply for an internship must first receive an acceptance letter from the relevant company and apply for an internship. Click for the required documents.

Oceangoing Watchkeeping Engineer Internship Comission
In accordance with the renewed Seafarers Training and Examination Directive, the oral evaluation of the candidates who apply for the Naval Watch Engineering Internship evaluation will be carried out by the Naval Watch Engineering Internship Commission (UVMS) in the Department.
In accordance with the directive, experts from the Istanbul Port Authority may also participate in the internship evaluation commission.
Therefore, candidates who have completed their internship and submitted their notebooks must submit their petitions containing their service information, contact information, transcripts and TR ID numbers to the Department to be sent to the Port Authority.
The internship notebook must be prepared and submitted in accordance with the following rules.
- Internship notebooks are filled out on computer.
- The notebook and its attachments are delivered online.
Preparation of internship notebooks
- Care should be taken to have photographs of the procedures performed during the internship.
- Operating diagrams and circuit drawings of machinery and equipment should also be included.
- Large-sized tables, drawings, etc. documents must be submitted as attachments to the notebook.

- Employment contract signed by a company official
- 4A Service document obtained via e-government
- Dormitory entry-exit document obtained via e-government
- Service certificate approved by company official and ship captain
- List of personnel approved by the ship captain on the dates of joining and leaving the ship
- Personnel list to be obtained from the relevant port authority for ships calling at Turkish ports, passing through the straits and staying in shipyards.

Staja çıkacak adaylar öncelikle ilgili şirketten kabul yazısı ve 2 adet resim ile birlikte Bölüme başvurmalı ve Bölüm tarafından hazırlanacak "Staj Değerlendirme Formu (STD1) ve staj defterini alarak staja çıkmalıdır.

Preparation of internship notebooks
