Summer School

📢 Summer School Procedures for the 2025–2026 Academic Year

Dear Students,

No courses will be offered as part of the summer school program in the Department of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering for the 2025-2026 Academic Year.

Students in our department who plan to take courses as part of the summer school program at other higher education institutions during the 2025-2026 Academic Year must complete the “Application Form for Taking Courses in Summer School” in full and upload it via the link provided below.

📅 Application Deadline:

Applications must be completed before the final registration deadline specified in the registration calendar announced by the university where the course will be taken.

⚠️ Important Information

  • ✅Scope of Courses Available: Students in our department may take departmental courses, service courses (courses with codes MAT, FIZ, MDB, and KIM) and social elective group courses from higher education institutions listed in the “List of Universities Where Courses Can Be Taken,” provided they meet the course equivalency requirement.
  • ✅Course Content: The content of the relevant course must be reviewed and approved by the course coordinator at YTÜ.
  • ✅Equivalency Requirements: For courses to be considered equivalent, credit equivalence must be at least 65%, and content equivalence must be at least 75%.
  • ✅Credit Limit: Students may take a maximum of 9 (nine) credit hours during summer school.
  • Application Requirement: Courses taken at other higher education institutions without submitting the “Application to Take Summer School Courses” to our department will not be accepted by our department, and grades earned in these courses will be deemed invalid. Therefore, no retroactive action will be taken regarding subsequent requests for acceptance, exemption, or grade transfer.

 

🚨 Regarding Courses with Prerequisites 

  • To take courses with prerequisites during summer school, the relevant prerequisite must have been successfully completed beforehand. Courses that are prerequisites for one another cannot be taken together during the same summer school session. Course registrations made without meeting the prerequisite requirement will not be accepted, and any courses taken and grades earned under these circumstances will be deemed invalid.
